How many times have you stopped yourself from doing something because you didn’t feel confident enough?
Reiki and self-confidence
From what I’ve experienced in my own journey of being a shy person, low confidence stems from low self-esteem and high self-judgment. The Reiki system I use is Usui/Holy Fire III. It assists the individual in developing unconditional love and self-acceptance. Additionally, Holy Fire III is an energy that has come through to assist with getting to know our authentic self. In my own experience with Usui/ Holy Fire III Reiki, I have noticed that both these aspects have been more developed in myself, and low confidence seems to be a non-issue for me these days.
Is that something you would like for yourself? Than I urge you to read on!
My low confidence has shifted
Today I was at a senior center sharing a music program and something occurred to me. It occurred to me that there was not one ounce of low confidence. I was in the flow of something greater than my limiting thoughts and judgments of myself. Then I became aware of when in the show they usually show up, those deprecating thoughts that get me questioning myself. Yet the space was blank, and I continued to stay in the flow. It was such an exuberant feeling.
When confidence turns to faith
My performances and my offerings lately all seem to have this same flow to them. It no longer seems like confidence anymore. I’m no longer just trusting myself and my attributes. There is more happening then just believing in myself. What I believe I am experiencing is faith. Faith is a deeper trust in something bigger than yourself, and in something that you can’t really explain or see. This flow, I’ve noticed, comes from a regular Reiki practice where I practice letting go of thoughts, and I focus on the Reiki energy. By practicing this daily, a shift happens. One’s patterns shift, habits clear and the wounded ego heals.
What is a Reiki Practice?
In the west, Reiki has been seen primarily as a healing practice that is done to others. Yet, I was taught, that foremost, Reiki is a personal practice. In practicing each day with Reiki one grows the energy and gets to see personally self-esteem start to shift. With this practice the Reiki offered to others becomes exponentially greater as well.
In my Reiki 1 training, I focus on teaching my students the importance of personal practice and how to accomplish that. There are lots of quick ways to add Reiki to your day as well as creative formal ways to do a personal practice with Reiki. The more you practice the more I’ve seen low confidence turn to confidence, and confidence transform into faith.
Practicing without Reiki
If you have not taken a Reiki class yet you can still grow your confidence with personal practice. Reiki means high frequency life force energy. Everyone has access to it yet it takes a lot of practice to get to the frequency of Reiki. When you take a Reiki class and the Reiki energy is transmitted to you, it is like landing on the glory spot in the game Chutes and Ladders that takes you to the top of the game. By having Reiki transmitted to you by a Reiki Master, it increases the frequency of your life force energy into the higher frequency of Reiki.
However, you can raise the frequency of your lifeforce energy each day progressively with personal practice. Doing yoga, meditation, chanting, toning and a peace walk in nature are just some ways to practice. Having an intention to raise your frequency before your practice is helpful too.
When you raise your frequency, you begin to shift habits and patterns because the frequency of these patterns doesn’t match that of the raising frequency. The frequency of low confidence is different than that of high confidence or faith. So as you practice (with or without Reiki) and shift your frequency you may begin to see that you are in the flow more, and past self-judgments don’t seem to arise as much anymore. The result? Perhaps more confidence.
