Healing in Reiki time
So many times in my life I have asked life for something and it showed up years later. I’ve also experienced manifesting things in shorter times as well as not at all. In the past I would blame myself for not “doing” something right or perhaps not being positive enough. Now I am beginning to experience something different. Something I call Reiki time For this I am really grateful.
I have been a Reiki Master for the past 2 in a half years. The impact this has had on my life is no short of miraculous in my eyes. Yet to others, if they assessed my life, it may not look that different. Through the last 2 years of truly committing to my Reiki practice I have come to know what I’m referring to as, “Reiki time”. Reiki Time to me is when I surrender to Reiki fully and I allow what shows up with out question.
It Never Shows Up the Way you Think
To someone who has studied law of Attraction techniques for years this has been a bit challenging for me at times especially when it has come to my clients. I have been known to really want to see radical change in my clients to make them “happy” with the session and in their lives. But what I have come to know is that Reiki has it’s own time and knowing. Perhaps healing too fast may get the client to miss out on a spiritual awareness that may be important for her to have or perhaps there is a connection that may be important for her to make and the way the sessions are going helps the client move toward that.
One client I worked on early on as a practitioner had some unexplained back pain. She could not get any answers as to what was going on for her. I did a series of sessions on her which she said were relaxing. Then she stopped coming and she found a doctor that found exactly what was going on and she started treatment in the medical field. As a young practitioner I thought I had failed her. But now in retrospect I can see that it was Reiki time working its magic. To me I can see how the reiki sessions supported her in finding the perfect doctor for her.
Curing Versus Healing
It is important as a Reiki practitioner and as a client to remember that healing is different then curing. One of the Senior Teachers, Laurelle Shanti Gaia, at ICRT put it well in her article, “Reiki Without Rules Getting Results With Reiki-Unconditionally” , “Healing is different than curing. Reiki produces beautiful results. We only need to be open to the many forms it takes.” Healing has a journey of its own that Reiki tunes into and honors. Being cured may be a persons healing journey it may not. Expecting to and intending to cure someone’s disease or life challenges may not be actually healing for them.
I am beginning to realize that Reiki time is about spiritually guided life force energy giving to the person receiving reiki the most benevolent out come on all levels. As a human being with limited perspective it is not for us to decide what that is. I am learning to surrender to the energy of Reiki and get my ego out of the way. As a Master practitioner I am learning to assist healing in Reiki Time.
