Rid unworthiness with Sound TherapyUnworthiness can take a toll on your life!

As you start evaluating whether you have done enough, done a good enough job, or met your life goals, perhaps you are seeing that you wish it looked different. Perhaps you are seeing that you did not hit the marks you wanted to. Perhaps life is validating that deep belief that sits in the subconscious that says, “I’m not worthy.” You can rid yourself of the unworthiness that keeps sabotaging your life with sound therapy.

6 Steps To Rid Unworthiness To Feeling Worthy, Capable, And Inspired

Do you want to change that looming feeling of not feeling good enough?  First I want to say congratulations!  Congrats on being aware of the unworthiness. That awareness is the first step to actualizing something different.  The second step I’d say is to feel it and get frustrated enough that you will do anything to heal, process, and transform it.  The 3rd step is to ask the question, “Who believed the unworthiness?” The 4th step is to grow the Source Self within more and more so you see the difference between the Self and the part that believes the unworthiness.  The 5th step is to get to know the part that believes the unworthiness. Get curious, ask it questions like you would getting to know a new friend. Finally, the 6th step is to let your Self reparent that part and create a new program with them.

Using Sound Therapy in These Steps to Rid Unworthiness

Above I offered a brief summary of how to release unworthiness. Each step requires some tools along the journey. Sound therapy tools can help a lot! Here is a list of the steps and what you can use for each step.

Step 1: Awareness

Chant GAM. This is the seed mantra for Ganesha. Ganesha is the Hindu energy that helps us clear obstacles and gain awareness.

Step 2: Feel It

Once you are aware of the obstacle of ‘unworthiness,’ feel the heck out of it. Get to know this sensation on a conscious level through groaning and humming with the unworthiness sensation.

Step 3: Who Believed It

When you ask this question an interesting realization happens.  Distinguish between your core self and the part that believed the message that you were unworthy. Make a sound that represents each.

Step 4: Strengthen Core Self

I call my core self my Source Self. You can name it whatever you like. It is that authentic part of you that is in a constant state of peace and well-being. It feels like a yoga high after yoga class or that sensation after a deep meditation.   Grow this SELF so you can really feel it.  You can do this by chanting ‘Ohm’ for 10-15 minutes.  This is the sound that brings us into a space of oneness.

Step 5: Get To Know the Unworthy Part

Now that you know the difference between the parts.  Have the Self get to know the part.  Asking questions is a good tool. And I also like singing with it or to it. You can ask its favorite song or just simply use vowel tones to sound to it… afterward, information will be present in the silence after the sounding. You will have more information about what, when, how, who, and where it all came about.

Step 6: Reparent

It is important at this stage that you let the part know how old you are and establish yourself as a safe adult. The part must see you as a responsible leader who has its back so the part can calm down. I have found a great way to do that is to reparent through singing to it like a parent singing a bedtime song to a child.  Again, after the singing, you gain a lot of awareness of what the next question or program to introduce to the part is.

How Do You Know If You Are Doing it Right?

I use these steps with myself as well as clients and they work like a charm to turn old programming around.  You know they are working because the hold unworthiness has on you feels less strong, you’ll have more information about this subconscious program in the conscious mind and awareness will keep bubbling up. The questions and the vocalizing will help you build awareness and process the energy. Sound is potent because of the effect it has on the nervous system and the psyche. “By influencing neurotransmitters and brain activity associated with emotions, sound therapy can effectively reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, promoting emotional stability. The soothing properties of sound can significantly lower cortisol levels, fostering a state of calm and helping patients manage stress more effectively.” 1

Processing in this way is a journey and it is important to know you can’t get it wrong.  But sometimes it is nice to have a guide through the process.   I am available if you would like clarity on the steps and tools,  and if a guide would be helpful to you to integrate the process. I do this through my Awakened Voice Sessions.

I’m happy to answer any questions that may have surfaced in reading this.  Just put them in the comment section.

IN Light and song,

Rebecca
