Motivating to be your best self is sometimes easier said than done.
What does this mean anyway?
What is ‘your best self’?
From my experience it is the calling deep inside that feels like something different then what you are living. For me, it showed up as a superhero energy. Really! I remember being a preteen and starting to feel really uncomfortable in my own skin. I really felt like I was a superhero capable of helping thousands yet locked in this small existence of a broken family and sitting in a catholic school classroom unable to be “myself”. I was so shy and quiet. I actually got the quietest in my 8th-grade yearbook.
When I look back on that time in my life I can see what motivated me. It was my discomfort. Do you think a crab gets uncomfortable before it molts its old shell? Motivating to be your best self is an uncomfortable process and can be a little crazy at times.
This New Year
This new year of 202o is calling us more than ever to rise up and molt. It is asking us to feel the discomfort and motivate ourselves to go toward our best selves which eventually will feel AMAZING. This self I am talking about is the authentic self, the spark of the universe that is uniquely expressed through you. When you tap into it more and more that will be your comfort zone and your compass for continued evolution and ascension.
2020 is asking us to let go of the layers of excuses and old programming more than ever. As the energy starts to shift on the planet we can embody the energy or feel totally freaked out by it. I encourage you to shed the layers of old stories, thoughts, feelings, emotions and trauma to step into a whole new you. Your discomfort will lead the way.
How to let go
I know letting go of these things can be hard. But the first step is to acknowledge that they are not you. They are experiences you have had but they are not your authentic self. It really is possible to let them go, but it can be a process. This is the human condition and the beginning of consciousness. As you let them go there is more space to embody the lighter frequencies of your best self. You will notice you start to get clearer about what you feel called to donbecome aware of a sense of purpose to be, know and do in your life.
Here are 3 practices for when discomfort sets in:
- Ask a Question: by staying in the question you begin to open up to more awareness and you will find the bread crumbs of synchronicity leading you to ah-ha moments and people, places and things that assist in opening and letting go.
- Be Present: by being present with the discomfort you allow the energy to shift, move and give you guidance. Invite it in like a guest and by giving it attention with presence it may release and leave you with more space to be YOU.
- Find Support: by being open to support you may find someone who may assist with energy healing, coaching or even just a listening ear. This can be a challenging time. It is important to know you are not a failure if you reach out for assistance and support.
Are you feeling uncomfortable in your own skin? Is your discomfort rising? This could be a brilliant time for you. What if you allowed this discomfort to motivate you toward your best self! The world is waiting for us to wake up and assist her in shifting the energy on the planet. Will you heed the call or numb it out?
